昔の人って､すごい！ ３年生の学習から
3年生は､地域の生糸関連のｻｰｸﾙのﾎﾞﾗﾝﾃｨｱの方から繭のことについてお話をお聞きしました｡
自分たちの育てている繭を使って､自動雌雄繭鑑別機を体験してみました｡貴重な現存する機械です｡

明治の末に開発されたそうです｡さなぎの雄雌の重量に差があることを利用して鑑別したそうです｡当時､純機械的な要素のみでこんな精密なものをよく作り上げたものだと思います｡
実際は､８割ほどの鑑別で､手作業には及ばなかったことから普及はしなかったようです｡精緻な造りから､当時かなり高価な機材だったと思います｡よく残っていたものだと思います｡塩尻地区の蚕糸業への情熱を感じます｡

それまで使っていたはかり式の選別機に比べて､当時の最先端のﾒｶﾆｽﾞﾑを駆使して重量で選別していたことがよく伝わってきます｡
